My Baby Girl

I had a good cry this afternoon. I didn't cry in the moment, I waited until I was alone in the car and a simple song came on. I know... That's just how it is to me. lyrics and poetry... they have a place in my heart.
So, the tears actually began early this morning. Baynard was out on the road and my baby girl (buggy boo) climbed into bed with me. She said she wanted "nugg-o-time" <snuggle time>. She climbed into the bed and promptly took all the blankets from me and hunkered down into them. She looked up at me and smiled. "I love you mommy" she said, and she fell quickly back to sleep.
As I was watching her, I got a little sentimental for a moment thinking of how fortunate we are to have her in our lives. What a joy, and what a blessing this little unwanted creature has been for us. We waited a long long time for her. She may not have come in the way expected, she may have had different parents, and she may have had a very rocky start in life. But the fact is, none of that matters. She was meant to be my baby girl.
I was snapped quickly from my sentimentality with Bubby screaming at LeeLee for slamming the bathroom door. Sigh.

A little while later I had an appointment to have my glasses checked. Alone! yes, I was alone. It was so nice to have my own thoughts even if for only an hour. As I drove in my car, (after the appointment fortunately) a song by Edwin McCain came on. It totally fit the description of what I had felt earlier in the day.
